You are sitting on the couch, drinking a soda, and you spill some on your tablet. What do you do next? The First thing to do is take a deep breath and don’t panic. Don’t pull out the hair dryer and try to dry it off. Don’t shake the tablet in an attempt to get all the liquid out of it.
The best thing you can do is dry it off and bring it in to us here at Cellular Solutions. We have seen tablets where people have tried to fix them when they haven’t got the know how that we do, and they nearly always make things worse. So please, hop in the car and come on over.
There are a few things you can do before you get here:
Wipe off the excess liquid.Power the tablet off before you touch it with anything wet . If you spilled something like a soda, use a damp cloth to wipe away the sticky soda. Be careful to make certain the device is off first. Tablets and cell phones could shock you, or even catch on fire, so don’t be hasty, shut it down.
You can try the old Rice trick if the spill wasn’t too severe. Fill a bowl big enough to immerse the tablet in with uncooked rice, I know, you’re saying why emphasize the uncooked part, believe me when I say people have tried this with cooked rice! Leave it in the rice for several hours until it’s completely dried out, then try to turn it on.
If it still doesn’t power up then bring it in. Don’t try to take it apart and fix it yourself. You can end up doing more damage to the device.
